Great vintage ads from Telstra Australia – Rabbits! and “not happy Jan”

 In advertising

Here is a great ad from Telstra Bigpond (their internet arm) in 2006.

Daniel: Dad, Why did they build the great wall of china?

Father: To keep out the rabbits..

Only 30 seconds long – worth a watch.
Proves that kids need the internet to research things that their Dads don’t know.

My other all time favorite is “not happy Jan”, an ad for the Australian Yellow Pages directory in 2000.

It became a popular catchphrase for years to come and any Australian knows exactly what you mean when you say “not happy Jan!”.

They don’t make ads like these any more…
