always read the small print

 In advertising

I picked up the latest Carphone Warehouse brochure yesterday – always a good read for market research.

I came across this full page O2 ad below.  I’m a loyal Vodafone customer so no need to switch – but I love reading mobile company small print for a laugh.

Reading the small print, it says “When you connect to a new 18 or 24 month contract before xx.xx.xx

o2_small_print

Looks like someone forgot to proof read the ad!

On the other hand, I saw an Orange mobile ad in the London underground back in March where at the end of the legal small print it read

orange-legal

thanks for reading, it makes our legal people feel wanted“.

Great discovery. I love reading the legal pages on websites too. Have you seen McDonalds…basically they regard anything you send them as their property.
