Right now Google shows me as right outside my house (I am deep indoors so no GPS) and I know one of my friends is in the Ogilvy building in Canary Wharf and it shows the exact building he's in so yes I think at MWC it could work quite well. Privacy is well looked after in the app - you can hide your location, show city level only, show accurate fix plus you can manually set your location and also give different friends different levels of access and accuracy to your location.
