Does anyone know how to adjust the settings of the phone so that when the ringtone is set to a custom piece of music from your music library, it simply plays the tune at a constant volume rather that the oscillating LOUD and quiet effect?

Apart from the fact the free Nokia Golf Tour Game (which is not supported on this phone)does not work on a landscape resolution, the phone is very good.

Many thanks Andrew for your speedy response. I have sent an e-mail to Psiloc as you suggested. I downloaded the trial version only 2 days ago so still have 8 days left on the trial.
I have only had the E71 a few days and have never had a smartphone before, it is bewildering the amount of features on it. I am going through the list of software you have suggested to download on to the phone from your article which I found very helpful. Thank you for your time in writing the article and your help.

Hi
Tried loading Psiloc connect on E71. Loaded ok, but when I try to connect from installations the only options I get are:help, license, about, send application and exit. Can anyone help?

Tip: If you hold down the 'home' key, a list of current tasks comes up, allowing you to flip through and manage what's what, or flip quickly to what's running. Handy-taskman is no longer on my phone....

I wish I had the wonderful experiences you guys have had with your E71's. At first I was very excited because it is a fantastic looking phone. I put on some music, set up the ringtones, figured out the email. Then I went to a wedding and took heaps and heaps of photos. The next day, all the photos were gone and the ringtone had defaulted back to the Nokia one. I couldnt understand why, so I rang my service provider. They got me to do a reset, which I did, but then I started getting all sorts of alien messages, and my GPS stopped working. It told me to update it online. So I tried, but the phone wouldnt accept the updates. So I rang back the service provider, only to be told that the E71's have a software problem, and my 10 day old phone had to go back to Nokia for a software upgrade. So, now I am without my phone, for up to 4 weeks so they tell me. I wonder how many others are facing this software failure?

How did you get screen shot to work? I tried changing the hot key to something other than "camera key" but it still does not capture the screen image.

Mark, on some handsets, you have to use the "c" or delete key to get it to work.

<a href="http://www.antonypranata.com/screenshot/download-screenshot-symbian-os-s60" rel="nofollow">Screenshot</a> by Anthony Pranata is the best application for screen captute and it is free.

The best piece of machine I ever had after owning Mobile Windows, iPhone, Nokias (N95, N95-4, etc). I'm very happy with the E71, now I do not have to carry Windows Mobile wich in my opinion are very primitive -the OS-, some of them like HTC Diamond are HiTech machines but the OS is horrible. I love Symbian S60 OS, to me it's very friendly. To close this comment I installed an 8Gb memory card on the E71 and it works great.

Yes. All agreed. E71 is a definite buy. I bought one. Full price..ahead of time..couldn't wait for the white one. Loving the device.
Killing my iphony friends.. not really but everyone who puts hands on the device digs it. As far as it's functioning power.. I haven't had a nokia experience like this. I gush. I'm geeky like that.. not really but more a professional with business and multimedia needs 24/7 and i'm not talking websurfing. The E71 hasn't locked up much. I took the iphone back. It crashed multiple times a day but that's apple so no biggie but the battery.. forgetaboutit!! NOKIA battery life is at least twice as better performing. I'm twice as fast as any Iphoner in my circumference with texing and accessing info. This phone's Gps is suspect. It wont leave you hangin for long but it's not as crisp as that of the Iphone and I had a hard time taking the Iphone back but when I was introduced to opera mini and mobitubia.. all that changed. My previous phone was the E 70 and the 6822 before that. So I appreciate the full keyboard and gull wing style. I hate that they abandoned it but this E 71 is SOLID AS A ROCK. No reception issues what so ever. 8 gig memory card... no limits iphoners.. applications on the Iphone are fantastic but I'm not missing anything. They can't even record video or audio without downloading and the encoding after recording video on an iphone makes me want to put thumbtacks in my eyes. This isn't a comparison because I fell in hard with that Apple device as all the others before but as a power phone user.. over 7k minutes.. tons of megabytes of downloading or file sending or opening or audio and video chronicling and texting and emailing to no end... i don't use my computer much... and this phone handles it. Get one.
